Lady Eagles win consolation game

MARIENVILLE — After a narrow loss in overtime in the opening round Friday, the Youngsville Eagles ended the weekend on a positive note with a 26-16 victory over Tidioute Charter in the consolation game of the East Forest Tip-Off Tournament on Saturday.

The win was the program’s first under new coach Morgan Haibach and Youngsville will try to build off the win on Tuesday when it welcomes Commodore Perry for its first home game of the season.

On Saturday, the winners got a game-high 9 points from Zaylee Cressley with teammates Riley Robinault and Kahlynne May adding 8 and 7 points, respectively.
