Eagles hold their own against Seneca

YOUNGSVILLE — Seneca swept a track & field meet with Youngsville on Tuesday, but the outmanned hosts more than held their own at Mike Shine Field.

Ethan Beers was a three-time winner for the Eagles, earning wins in the long jump (18 feet, 10.75 inches), triple jump (40 feet, 3.5 inches) and high jump (5 feet, 9 inches). Teammate Chase Myers also placed in all four of his events, finishing second in the 110 hurdles (17.8) and javelin (117 feet, 6 inches) and third in the 300 hurdles (46.5) and high jump (5 feet, 5 inches).

Also having standout days for the Youngsville boys were Thomas Jukes, who was second in the 100 and 200 meters, Michael Bojaczko was third in both the 1,600 and 3,200 meters and Greyson Linkerhof earned a second-place in the shot put.

In girls competition, sophomore Riley Robinault and freshman Sarah Blauser picked up the Eagles’ three victories. Robinault was first in the 200 meters, finishing in 28.3 seconds, and first in the long jump, clearing 4 feet, 5 inches. Blauser won the shot put with a throw of 28-1. Robinault also placed second in the girls long jump.

Other standouts for Youngsville were Cassidy Britton, who finished second in the 1,600 and 3,200 meters, Kinzlea Chase, who was second in the 300-meter hurdles and Natalie Ross, who was fourth in the 400 meters.
