DUI. At 1:59 p.m. Saturday, April 13, Ashley Thornton, 39, of Warren, was stopped by Warren-based state police after an alleged traffic violation was observed. Upon making contact with Thornton, it was believed he was impaired at the time of the stop. Upon completion of field sobriety tests, Thornton was placed under arrest for suspicion of DUI. He was transported to Warren General Hospital for chemical testing. Charges of DUI along with other various traffic violations were filed via Criminal Complaint through District Justice Laura Bauer’s office in North Warren.
Brokenstraw Township
Bad checks. Between Wednesday, June 20, 2018, and Thursday, July 12, 2018, Brokenstraw Produce reported receiving bad checks on two separate days from Hermelando Feria-Bautista, 42, of Allegany, N.Y. Brokenstraw Produce attempted to cash the checks and was unable due to insufficient funds. A certified letter was sent to Feria-Bautista with no response. Charges of bad checks were filed through MDJ Todd Woodin’s office in Youngsville. Funds allegedly stolen from Brokenstraw Produce with bad checks total $1,300.
