Three days ago, Conneaut had to come from behind for a 7-6 win over Warren’s softball team. On Tuesday, the Eagles defeated host Warren 11-0 for their third straight Region 5 victory.

Conneaut started the season 0-6, but the Eagles have beaten Warren twice in four days to improve to 3-6 overall and 3-2 in the region. The Dragons fall to 1-6 overall and 1-5 in Region 5.

Leading 3-0 off Warren starting pitcher Lillian Devore, Conneaut batted around in the top of the third inning before relief pitcher Malysia Sorensen ended the seven-run frame.

Alana Stuart pitched the final two innings, striking out six, but Conneaut’s Lainie Harrington had a solo blast in the top of the fifth to help ensure the 10-run rule.

Senior Kylie Shrock held the Dragons to singles by Devore and Emma Gray, who reached base twice in the loss. Warren left seven runners on base.

Warren’s JV team won 8-1 in three innings. Alexis Stec pitched all three innings for the victory. Peyton Hagg, Olivia Romanosky, Stec and Natasha Ferry had two hits each. Danika Abbey made two nice defensive catches at second base along with Stec knocking down a pair of grounders up the middle for outs.
