CANTON, Ohio — The Eisenhower football team had quite an experience on its day off.
How does a a trip to the Pro Football Hall of Fame sound?
“I had done this a few years back with a team and it was a great experience for the players,” head coach Jim Penley said. “This year’s team is just an extremely close group. They work very hard and are incredibly supportive of one another, so when this opportunity came up, I just thought it would be another chance to work on team building.”
While at the Hall of Fame, the players, who were transported on their field trip by parents, had the opportunity to hear from one of the specialists there who spoke on the evolution of the football helmet.
“It was just a truly unique chance for these young guys to see what earlier players wore in the early days of organized football,” Penley said.

The Knights also had the chance to see the latest multi-media used in the game and they all had the chance to play “Madden” on the big screen.
“This group of guys is incredibly close and really care about each other,” Penley said. “It was just fun to watch the guys having fun playing video games and just enjoying each other’s company.”
