Clough scholarship winner announced
Collin Clough presented the Paul Clough Memorial Academic Scholarship on behalf of the Clough family, honoring the legacy of Paul Clough as a teacher, coach, and role model who encouraged students to pursue excellence in both academics and life. Applicants for the scholarship were asked to describe a time they set a goal, how they achieved it, and how they would “Raise the Bar.” In presenting the award, Clough said his father valued academics, goal setting, leadership, and personal growth, and worked to bring out the best in others both in the classroom and in the wrestling room. He noted that this year’s recipient demonstrated those same qualities through her essay, which highlighted the discipline and perseverance required to score 1,000 career points, overcome setbacks, and inspire others through future coaching. The 2026 Paul Clough Memorial Academic Scholarship was awarded to Lainey Font.
