Eagles track team splits with Union City
The Youngsville Eagles hosted the Bears and the Girls Track and Field team edged Union City 72-69 and the boys fell short dropping the meet 74-67 on Tuesday.
Mia Rafalski led the girls with 16 points placing first in triple jump (23’9.5″), high jump (4’2″), and shot put throwing a distance of 26’11”. She also placed third in long jump.
Freshman, Cassidy Britton, won the one mile and two mile race clocking it at 6:19 and 14:27 respectively while also receiving second in the 800 meter.
Alexa Rieder and Andrea Curtin also impressed for the girls each adding 8 points to their team. Rieder won the long jump with a distance of 12’2.5″ while Curtin won 300 meter hurdles with a quick time of 59.1.
For the boys, Blake Myers continues to impress sweeping all three jumping events.
He won high jump at a height of 5’6″, long jump at 18’5 3/4″, and triple jump at 33’6 1/4″.
Ethan Senz won the 200 meter dash (26.2), Koby Hendrickson won 110 hurdles(17.74) , and Talon Mesel won the 100 meter dash clocking in at 11.9 seconds. The three, combined with Dawson Burt, won the 4×100 meter relay (50.1).
Brandon Sutton led the way for the boys on the throwing end winning shot put with a 33’1.5″ and placed third in javelin throwing 84′ 5.5″.
