Beers establishes new school mark in the triple jump

BUTLER — Ethan Beers broke the Eisenhower school record in the triple jump at the Butler invitational on Saturday.
Beers, a senior, recorded a leap of 45-1/4, which was good for third place, breaking the old school mark of 44-8 set by Josh Gerbec in 2004, and finished eighth in the long jump (21-3). Also earning medals for the Knights was Chase Myers, who was seventh in the 100-meter hurdles (15.15) and eighth in the high jump (6-0).

WARREN TRACK & FIELD
The Warren boys and girls track team competed in the 66-team Slippery Rock Invitational on Friday.
Featuring many of the top athletes in the state, the Dragons were well-represented and found success against many teams from the eastern part of Pennsylvania and a few from New York State. Top highlights from the meet are as follows:

Four Dragons also competed in the Butler Invitational on Saturday. This invite, similar to the SRU Invitational, had a very deep field and was highly competitive.
Riley Evan (26th) and Leona Hovan (40th) competed in the 800 meters with times of 2:30.76 and 2:38.25 respectively. Morgan Alexander finished 21st in the 3,200 meters with a time of 11:50.12. Leyton Salvatore competed in the 800 meters (2:04.38) and the 1,600 meters (4:48.44) and earned 30th and 43rd places respectively.
The Dragons are back in action on Tuesday as they travel to Franklin to take on the Knights at 4 p.m.
WARREN SOFTBALL
Katie Stull didn’t allow a hit and Fort LeBoeuf shut out Warren 14-0 in five innings Saturday.
The Dragons will look to regroup this week as they have three home games in a row starting Tuesday when they host the Titusville Rockets at 4 p.m. at Lady Dragons Field.
