Dragons track sweeps visiting Corry

Warren earned its second sweep of the season on Tuesday over visiting Corry at War Memorial Field.
The Dragons boys won, 82-59, and the girls, 78-63.
“Was a close meet for both squads, but our teams really showed up and competed today,” said Warren coach Kevin Dustin. “We have a lot of kids wanting to step up to score points for the team.
“For the boys, Ben White, Ricky Madril, Graham Carr, Corbin Reinard, Sam Lindell, and Hugh Harrison all qualified for districts in an individual or relay event,” said Dustin. “Our girls, Laney Gatto, Katie Beyer, Shyann Rulander, Lindsey Madigan, Alexia Bowers, and Sophie Walker all qualified in individual or relay events.”
Laney Gatto again paced the Lady Dragons, winning the 100-meter dash (13.56 seconds), 200 (28.20), and long jump (16-6), plus second in the triple jump. Gracie Gatto won the 400 (1:07.48) and was on Warren’s winning 4X400 relay with Lindsay Madigan, Alexia Bowers and Sophie Walker. Izzy Heacox (19.67) won the 100 hurdles with Bowers second, and Bowers (55.49) won the 300 hurdles with Heacox second. Katie Beyer finished first by less than three seconds in the 1600 (5:47.97) in front of teammate Shyann Rulander.
For the boys, Ben White won the 100 (11.76) and 200 (23.70), Graham Carr the 400 (56.00) and 800 (2:12.07), Ethan Best the 100 hurdles (17.31) and 300 hurdles (44.21), Cole Johnson long jump (19-4) and triple jump (39-2-1/2), and Ricky Madril javelin in 130-8. All three relays won: The 4X100 team of Aric Allen, Cayden Wright, Best, and Ben White in 46.24; the 4X400 team of Best, White, Madril and Carr in 3:43.64; and the 4X800 team of Corbin Reinard, Carr, Sam Lindell and Hugh Harrison in 9:00.26.
