Jaquay pin leads Ike past Cambridge Springs 35-33

CAMBRIDGE SPRINGS — Gannon Jaquay to the rescue.

The senior recorded a pin at 2 minutes, 15 seconds in the 152-pound match — the last of the night — to send Eisenhower to a 35-33 victory over Cambridge Springs in a high school wrestling match Wednesday.

“Going into the last match, we were down 33-29,” Knights coach Chris Black said. “Gannon got the pin and got the win for us. There aren’t a lot of guys I would rather have finish the match other than Gannon Jaquay. It was perfect that he ended up getting it.”

Also recording falls for Eisenhower were Griffin Williams (113 pounds) and Cole Kellogg (126). Cael Black (215) earned a 17-2 technical fall.

Coach Black was also pleased with the performances of Cam Ferrand (132), who was back in the lineup after an illness, and Michael Vanatta, who lost a close match at 285.
