Dear Editor, I feel it is necessary to address your opinion of why my flag flies with the union down. You stated that “moments of personal dissatisfaction or times of protest should not be a reason to have the union down.” I agree with you. However, these are not my reasons as you implied. Dear Editor, Hmmm? Definitely not surprising at all! Not to the unclouded mind any how. Wrong slant on Seuss

Dear Editor, I woke up to read the paper and saw the View from Hickory Heights (March 12). There was no government involvement in the decision made to stop publishing six Dr. Seuss books that are offensive to various races. Dear Editor, I am an RN with 25 years experience. Health-care workers and their patients have had an extremely trying year. Burnout was a problem before COVID-19 hit with 63% of nurses reporting inadequate staffing. This is the highest factor of job dissatisfaction in our profession. Yet, healthcare workers never stopped giving care. Dear Editor, We want to thank Brian Ferry for the wonderful article her wrote about my mother, Mary Laurich. My brothers and sisters and I thoroughly enjoyed the front page celebrity status you gave her. She is nearing the end of a life well lived. Fueling inaccuracy

Dear Editor, Gas prices are NOT going up because “X” was elected. Prices were down because demand was down — extreme cold and the pandemic had people staying home. Refineries cut production because the need was just not there. To prop up oil prices, OPEC slashed production as well. Now as spring nears and people get more comfortable going out, demand is rising But oil companies are afraid of being burned so they have not started producing more oil.
