Benefit dinner

The friends and family of Erik Penley are a holding a Spaghetti Dinner and Chinese Auction on Saturday, May 12 at the Lander Fire Hall from 3 to7 p.m. Dinner for a donation. Erik is 39-year-old resident of Lander that is recovering from a stroke. The benefit is to help with medical expenses while he recuperates. For more information contact Aaron Uber at (814) 730-5179.

Glade Township yard sale days

Glade Township yard sale says are being held on Friday and Saturday, May 11 and 12. A list of families participating in this year’s garage sale days will be available at the township building on Cobham Park Road.

Tidioute VFW Post 8803

On Saturday, May 5, We will be hosting The American Pie Band. The band features classic rock. Check them out online to view song lists. VFW will be having a taco bar, snacks and margarita cupcakes starting at 6 p.m. (for a donation). Music starts at 7 p.m.

On Monday, May 7, Key Cards are available. A New Door Key Card System will be in place on May 10. Please be sure to stop by and get your card.

On Thursday, May 10, a BOD meeting is at 5 p.m.

On Sunday, May 13, the VFW and Servicemen’s Meetings are at 9 and 9:30 a.m.

Plans are underway for Memorial Day services andthe golf outing is in June. More information will be available soon.

As always the bar is open to members and their guests.

MS group cancelled

The Warren Multiple Sclerosis Support group meeting for May is cancelled, our next meeting is scheduled for June 6. Anyone who needs support or more information is encouraged to contact the National Multiple Sclerosis Society at 1-800-344-4867.

Caregivers’ supprt group

The newest Caregiver’s Support Group continues to meet this Thursday, May 3, at Grace United Methodist Church, 501 PA Ave. E., at 5 p.m. The meeting format is similar to the noon time meeting on the third Monday of each month and will include information about Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias. It is open to any caregivers in the area, as well as those interested in learning more about these diseases, and educational programs being held locally. Time is allowed for sharing of concerns, and questions. The program for this meeting will be a video presentation, the first segment of the Alzheimer’s Project, a documentary produced by HBO, entitled the “Memory Loss Tapes.” This DVD covers the experience of memory loss from the point of view of the person with the disease, depicting what it is like to slowly lose one’s mind. Those attending are asked to enter the building via the front doors of the church facing Pennsylvania Avenue. Bring a snack and beverage, if desired. Bridge results

Tuesday afternoon at the Allegheny Community Center, Peggy Morgan was first and Connie Michell was second. At the Woman’s Club Thursday afternoon, Connie Michell and Connie Lucia were first and second. Patty Baker came in first Thursday evening at the library, followed by Connie Michell.

ReStore donations

Habitat for Humanity of Warren County’s ReStore is operating from the basement of Warren Antiques & Giftware, located at 306 Second Avenue in Warren. The store is open for donations and purchases Monday through Saturday, 10am to 6 p.m. Donating large items such as appliances and furniture should be prearranged with Habitat for Humanity; other home improvement items may be donated during normal business hours.
