Junior varsity football
The Warren junior varsity football team fell to the visiting Cathedral Prep Ramblers, 20-6, last Monday at Youngsville High School.
After a scoreless first quarter, the Ramblers connected on a long pass to take a 7-0 lead.
Warren’s Oliver Boozer recovered a muffed punt return, and a few plays later, sophomore Adam Yeager took a reverse 30 yards for the Dragons lone score.
Cornerback Patrick Ross killed a Rambler drive before the half with an interception deep in Warren territory.
Both teams exchanged possessions and made stops on fourth down, but Ramblers were able to get the ground game going and took control. They put together a long drive that ended up eating most of the fourth quarter clock that put the Dragons away.
Warren freshman quarterback Aaron Shene connected with Johnny Sensenig on a long pass, but the Dragons were stopped at the 1-yard line as the clock expired.
The Dragons defense was led by linebackers Cameron Hagg and Charlie Blum.
The Dragons’ JV (2-1) returns to action at 6 p.m. tonight at Youngsville’s Mike Shine Field against visiting Titusville.
