Eisenhower saw first hand Tuesday night what a team with experience can do as Northwestern downed the Knights 64-40 in a girls basketball game.
The Knights played to their strengths in the opening quarter as they hit four 3-pointers by three different players to stay within reach of the Wildcats, who started four seniors and a sophomore. Paced by Tayler Stagl, who had 10 points, Northwestern led 22-14 at the end of the first period.
The visitors began to press to start the second quarter, which Eisenhower had issues with. In fact, the Wildcats scored eight points in 29 seconds to help build their lead to 39-25 by halftime.
Northwestern continued to press in the third quarter and their defense held the Knights to just 7 points, building the advantage to 52-32 heading into the fourth quarter.
Sophomore Makayla Presser-Palmer led the Wildcats (14-3) with 24 points, while Stagle had 17 and Chloe Yazembiak added 14.
Leading the way for Eisenhower (7-8) were Clara Steinberg with 16 points and Laney Font with 10.
The Knights are back in action on Thursday when they play host to North East on Alumni Night.
