Warren wrestling improves 3-1 with win over Erie High

ERIE — Warren’s wrestling team is 3-1 overall in dual meets after a 60-3 win on Thursday over Erie High.

That’s one more regular-season win than all of last season, but head coach Glenn Baldensperger isn’t counting.

“I believe so,” said Baldensperger. “Guys are working hard. Coming in, we had no real idea what to expect how the kids would respond. We are happy with where we’re at and excited about the improvements ahead.”

In addition to seven forfeit wins against Erie, the Dragons also won on the mat with first-period pins from Josh Letko (145), Kenneth Pizarro (160) and Damien Sanchez (172). It was Pizarro’s first varsity win.
