FRANKLIN — The Warren boys and girls track and field teams earned a Tuesday sweep when they visited the Franklin Knights.

The girls were in a tight match the entire afternoon, with some events coming down to 0.01 seconds such as the 1,600 meters and the 400-meter relay.

The boys won 12 of the events in the contest and had many top-three finishers en route to a lopsided victory.

“We knew today would be a close one on the girls’ side, and we were happy to see them step up and compete,” said head coach Kevin Dustin. “We are very pleased to be coming away with two wins today. We have a busy week of competing, and are looking to compete well and get a few more kids qualified for districts.”

Individual girls winners for the dual meet were Emma Peterson, Rylee Cull, Morgan Alexander and Riley Evan in the 3,200-meter relay; Madelyn Nosel, Ava Wymer, Lauren Fajbik and Lexi Gulnac in the 400-meter relay; Alexander in the 3,200 meters; Lilly Newton, Michaela Dolan, Fajbik and Evan in the 1,600-meter relay; Newton in the high jump; Hailey Cabisca in the pole vault; Nosel in the long jump; Zoe Rodgers in the discus and Lara Pearson in the javelin.

Winning first place for the boys were Reilly Morgan, Grayson Collopy, Chase Fetzeck, Timmy Giger in the 3,200-meter relay; Adon Maier in the 110-meter hurdles and 300-meter hurdles; Kaiden Garris in the 100 meters and 200 meters; Leyton Salvatore in the 400 meters and 800 meters; Kahle Kuzminski, Garris, Scott Nichols and Tomasso Clemente in the 400-meter relay; Grayson Collopy in the 3,200 meters; Max Spiegel in the high jump and triple jump; and Cole Fitzgerald in the pole vault.

The Dragons are back in action today as they host the Titusville Rockets at 4 p.m. at War Memorial Field.
