Ike boys finish fourth at Coudy

COUDERSPORT – The Eisenhower boys racked up three first-place finishes and took fourth as a team at the Coudersport Invitational on Friday.

Jonah Samuelson swept the hurdle races, winning the 110 high hurdles in 16.3 and crossing the finish line in 43.1 in the 300 intermediates. He also teamed with Troy Myer, Kelly Glotz and Carter Knapp to win the 4×100 relay (46.2).

Glotz turned in strong efforts in the sprints, taking fifth in the 100 (12.2) and sixth in the 200 (24.9).

Both the 4×800 and 4×400 relay teams qualified for districts with their best times of the year, coming in third in both races. Hunter Peterson, Cody Anthony, Garrett Head and Joey Bauer clocked in at 9:12 in the 4×8, while Samuelson, Owen Nizzi, Austin Lundmark and Myer ran the 4×4 in 3:42.9.

In the field, Nathaniel Hoffman finished second in the pole vault (11-3), while Bauer finished third in the shot put (38-11) and fifth in the discus (106-11).

Nizzi added a fifth place finish in the 300 hurdles (45.4).

“The kids all stepped up – we had a lot of personal bests,” said assistant coach Ryan Hoffman. “It’s finally coming together for them. All-in-all, it was a good meet.”

The Knights return to action Tuesday at Youngsville.
