Warren beats Erie again

Dragons pound out 19 hits in 16-1 victory

ERIE — Warren’s softball team turned 19 hits into a 16-1 four-inning Region 5 win over host Erie on Tuesday.

After their third region win on Monday, also against Erie High, the Dragons improved to 4-7 in Region 5 with every hitter in the lineup having at least one hit and scoring at least one run.

“The whole lineup had hits tonight,” said Warren coach Carissa Stuart, whose Dragons are 4-10 overall. “It’s nice to get a lead and be able to relax on offense and make solid contact. I’m happy all our girls contributed. It was a good team win.”

Leading the Dragons with three hits each were leadoff hitter Alana Stuart, Malysia Sorensen and Alanna Warrior, and two hits each from Emma Gray, Alexis Jones and Natasha Ferry.

Warren committed three errors, but Alana Stuart did not allow a hit or earned run over four innings pitched. She struck out nine without a walk.

In junior varsity play, Warren lost 14-5 in five innings. Alexis Stec reached base twice and scored two runs for Warren. Also scoring in the loss were Riley Cull, Braiden Stewart and Alannah Garza.
