Dems offer hope?

Dear Editor, Americans should recall the message of hope the Democrats have offered when it’s time to vote in November. For nearly four years, the Democrats along with their Chinese propaganda media machine have relentlessly bombarded us with their message of hope. Hope that we are gullible enough to believe fabricated evidence to destroy the President. They hope that eventually the endless false narratives and contrived accusations will promote a coup of elected and/or appointed officials. Now with Covid-19, they hope the economy will crash, millions will die, unemployment will ...

‘The richest 10 percent’

Dear Editor, The following paragraph is a quote from “The Week” magazine: “Senate Republicans inserted a provision into coronavirus relief legislation that will help millionaires avoid 90 billion dollars in taxes this year alone, the nonpartisan Joint Committee on Taxation reported last week... The organization’s analysis found that 82 percent of the benefits of that change will go to 43,000 taxpayers who earn more than 1 million dollars annually... And less than 3 percent of the benefits will go to Americans earning less than $100,000 per year.” I recall that a variety ...

‘Blame’ for the virus

Dear Editor, First, we heard the COVID-19 virus came from unsanitary “wet markets.” Now, the suspect is careless lab operation. Regardless, it’s from Wuhan. At least one doctor tried to alert fellow citizens, and the world. He was silenced by the Chinese communist government and since died. The World Health Organization (WHO) told us that “human-to-human” transmission was not a concern. How untrue! It’s amazing that some are apologists for the aforementioned culprits. Some suggest America is partly at fault. (”Our guard was down, we don’t like ‘blame ...

‘Don’t want to know’

Dear Editor, If we don’t want to know, we don’t look. If we want to postpone the pain of opening the gas/electric bill for its (possibly scary) amount due, we put the envelope aside. If we want to hide from the voters how many are sick from a virus, we don’t test for same (Possibly scary truth). Especially in an election year. And if anyone DOES look and tells, they become unemployed. Remember those honest folks, the ones with the straight stuff of Atlantis! The optimists of Troy! Oran Stewart, Warren

‘Dictatorial policies’

Dear Editor, I wanted to comment on the present crisis involving coronavirus. We’re all aware of the catastrophic effects of pandemics; and I can understand many of the precautions that were taken early on to inhibit the spread of the virus. However, after several weeks of living under the drastic measures that were enacted, many questions begin to surface. Due to computer models, we were first informed that two million people would die in the U.S. alone. Then it was two hundred fifty thousand. Then it was revised again to ninety thousand. And just lately, it has been set at ...

‘Empathy with homebound’

Dear Editor, This corona virus crisis and the frustration and isolation we have endured, difficult as it is, does allow us an opportunity to identify more closely with some of the forgotten ones. I’m thinking of those who have endured loneliness and isolation because of age or long-term illness. A predicament which could await any one of us. We might also think of those isolated in prison or under house arrest. “Be mindful of prisoners as if sharing their imprisonment.” — Hebrews 13:3. Many of us, too, are lamenting the closure of our places of worship. Perhaps we ...
