An upside down world Dear Editor With President Kennedy, it was his being Catholic and the fear that the Pope would be running our country. Funny, that’s not a concern with Biden! Then, with Obama it was “death squads” that would decide who lives or dies in the Affordable Care Act, confiscation of all our guns and we’d be ruled by Sharia law. The whole Republican platform seems to run on fear and paranoia. You must stay scared so you don’t thinkn. What’s with the flags?

Dear Editor, I see guys driving around with big American flags, political flags and even Confederate flags flapping from the beds of their pickups. I wonder how many of these guys have actually served in the military? I would bet very few. I served in the military — five years in Vietnam and three years in Germany. I don’t feel the need to have flags flapping from my vehicles to show my patriotism. Also, regarding the recent controversy, I don’t think I am a “loser” or “sucker” for serving in the military. Dear Editor, Twenty-first century tyrants all over the world are more powerful than those notables of antiquity and because those modern tyrants have the use of advanced technologies with which to communicate with and deceive a greater percentage of their people. ‘Ugly’ attitudes in the signs Dear Editor, The purpose of advertising, be it for a product, a service, or political candidate, is to present your cause in the most favorable light. Political advertising has taken a new turn in this election cycle, and I can see that it does promote a candidate, but not the one intended. One can only assume that these banners have been approved by both the candidate and the political party he represents.
