31 new cases, one new death reported in Warren County
On the next-to-last reporting day of the month, Warren County surpassed 500 new cases of COVID-19 for September.
There were 31 new county cases reported by the Pennsylvania Department of Health on Thursday, bringing the total to 3,345. There have been 510 so far in September. The department’s Oct. 1 report will reflect the cases on Sept. 30.
Also on Thursday, the department reported another COVID-related death in the county, bringing that number to 116.
Hospitalizations are down.
There have been three COVID-positive patients at Warren General Hospital in the past seven days, according to the department.
Of the total cases, 2,615 are confirmed and 730 are probables. For most of September, there was not a day when there were more than four probables added to the total. Over the past two days, when there were 50 new cases, there were 24 new probables.
No new vaccinations were reported on Thursday.
About 38.5 percent of the county population has been fully vaccinated. Just over 44 percent of eligible residents (those at least 12 years of age) have been fully vaccinated.
Another 2,430 residents have been partially vaccinated.
COVID-19 testing continues to be available at both Warren General and Warren State Hospital. Officials at Warren General ask that those who believe they were exposed to a positive case but do not have symptoms quarantine for five days before testing — citing improved accuracy of the testing after five days.
