Newton Dinner Club

The Newton Dinner Club will meet for a picnic lunch at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 16, at the former Obrok home on Sanford Road. Those attending are asked to bring a tureen to share and a donation for the food bank.

Class to lunch

The Warren Area High School class of 1964 will meet for lunch at noon Tuesday, Aug. 21, at the Eagles Club. All members of the class and their spouses or significant others are welcome.

WGH Auxiliary fundraiser

It’s time for the Warren General Hospital Auxiliary annual sports sale, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, Aug. 22 and 23, in the WGH Outpatient Lobby.

There will be Pirates, Steelers, Penguins and Penn State items galore to purchase for yourself or for a gift. Shirts, grill covers, jewelry, hats, banners and more. Something for children & adults.

Cash, checks, credit cards and payroll deductions are accepted.

Bridge results

Results from Monday night duplicate bridge held at Warren YMCA were:

1st-Patricia Fincher and Bill Kuppinger with 39;

2nd-Bob Greco and Matt Oram with 29.5;

3rd-Sally Steele and Marge Polito with 26.5.

DUI patrols

The Warren County DUI Task Force will have several marked and unmarked patrol cars out this weekend with high visibility of traffic enforcement throughout Warren County. Officers that are well-trained with DUI enforcement will be targeting impaired drivers, which includes drugs as well as alcohol. Once again, we encourage people to find sober drivers ahead of time.
