Dear Editor, I am miffed! It is more than inconsiderate of the election process that President Pro Tem Joe Scarnati announced 6 days before the final filing date of Tuesday, Feb. 18th, 2020, that he is leaving the PA Senate and not seeking reelection! The press release on his official website is dated Feb. 12th and it appeared in the Warren Times Observer on the 14th! How are citizens interested in running for this most significant elected office in our Commonwealth able to collect 500 signatures and get them to Harrisburg on time? Ballotpedia suggests getting twice the signatures ...

Disgusted Veteran

Dear Editor, As a voter and veteran I was appalled when Pelosi ripped up the State of the Union speech along with all the other Democrats who sat through the speech like pouting children. What a slap in the face for all the people honored during the speech. Three of those families honored had tragically lost loved ones and that was the last thing they needed to see. Dear Editor, This is “abuse of power.” When Joe Biden was vice-president, he threatened then Ukrainian President Poroshenko. He told him the Obama administration would withhold one billion dollars of loan guarantees unless Poroshenko fired prosecutor General Viktor Shokin. Shokin planned to investigate Burisma (natural gas company) for corruption. Biden didn’t want that as Burisma gave Joe’s son Hunter a high paying position on Burisma’s board. Dear Editor, The Republicans complain that the House did not do their diligence in pursuing witnesses and subpoenas during the impeachment, despite the fact that it would have drawn the process out thru mid-summer. They then proceeded to do the same thing in the Senate!
