Four long years

Dear Editor, Lest we forget, to blame Joe Biden for the Afghanistan debacle, the Border Crisis or any other of his missteps is ridiculous. He’s likely doing the best he can but did Americans do their best putting him in office or was it just “Dump Trump” at all cost? Somebody in his administration is pretty smart having him carry all those cue cards around with him that tell him what he can, and shouldn’t, say or do in office. The guy is 78 years old, clearly suffers from frequent mental confusion, his only experience is being a career politician for 50 plus years, a lawyer ...

Sinking sense

Dear Editor, A recent political cartoon in the Times Observer was right on target. It showed a sinking cruise ship with people floating in the ocean shouting, “we oppose lifeboat mandates.” If everybody would do the right thing and get vaccinated we would not be fighting over mandates. County missing benefits

Dear Editor, For years I have wondered why Pennsylvania and Warren Country local officials have not partnered with the Appalachian Regional Commission to reduce the county’s isolationism, spur economic development, and improve the county’s broadband and highway development system. You can see what ARC does by Googling it on the internet. I never see any talk about the grants this federal agency offers rural Appalachian communities like Warren County. We need normalcy

Dear Editor, Norway ended COVID-19 restrictions on Sept. 25. COVID is considered a respiratory disease with seasonal variation. Its prime minister said it was time to return to a normal life. Restrictions lifted: social distancing, sports, cultural venues, restaurants and nightclubs reopen to full capacity. Sweden removed its restrictions on Sept. 29 to include restaurants, theaters, and stadiums. Sweden never closed its schools. Over a year ago, there were many unknowns about COVID. Pandemic not over

Dear Editor, I do not have any answers for you. I do, however, believe that logic and common sense play a large part in life. The number of COVID cases in Warren County has skyrocketed the past two months. Five hundred-plus just in September when we had barely any for the whole summer. Then came the vaccinations and everybody felt they did not have to wear a mask any longer. Nobody really knows for sure. I myself have worn a mask since March 2020. I am vaccinated and wear my mask. Dear Editor, U.S patriots on various battlefields have had to dodge long, nasty bayonets. Presently, some folks seem to think it is patriotic to dodge a tiny, thin COVID vaccine needle. Patriot soldiers in Middle East heat have had to wear cumbersome full face gas masks. Presently, some folks think it is patriotic to fuss about light weight face masks, in air conditioned buildings.Yes, I know schools may not have AC, but not needed most of school year in this climate.
