DEP takes proper step Dear Editor, In a recent article in this paper, new rules for finding and repairing gas leaks in new and existing wells and infrastructure, along with ending venting and flaring of methane were recommended by the Department of Environmental Protection and Gov. Josh Shapiro. I strongly support these being implemented as quickly as possible, because of the health risks methane presents to the environment and the public. Something is unfair Dear Editor, Fair week. Always fun. And always well done. Those people work hard. Was attendance down? Friday night was busy. Saturday was not bad. Not sure, but I can’t remember getting my hot sausage sandwich without having to wait in line, but this week I never did. And I ate four of them. Call for blood donors Dear Editor, The American Red Cross has declared only the second national blood crisis in its history — and patients may already be feeling the impact. Blood donations have fallen to a four-year summer low, worsening this summer’s emergency shortage. Donors are asked to act immediately to help save lives. All blood types are needed, but the situation is especially dire for type O blood as the Red Cross is now limiting distribution of these blood products to hospitals.
