Youth football
On Saturday, the Warren Dawgs hosted the Coudersport Falcons for a midseason matchup.
The Falcons started with the ball on their own 35-yard line. The Dawgs defense held them to a three-and-out. After a short drive by the Dawgs, they were forced to punt.
The Falcons fumbled on the second play of the ensuing possession and the ball was recovered by Emmett Snyder to give the Dawgs’ offense great field position. Lukas Cope took advantage and punched it in for a 4-yard touchdown run. The extra-point conversion attempt was no good, bringing the score to 6-0.
The second quarter featured a series of punts and fumbles by both teams with the Dawgs defense holding a 6-0 lead going into halftime, while holding the Falcons to only 27 yards of total offense, recording a sack and recovering two fumbles in the first half.

The Dawgs opened the second half with the ball, but were held to a quick three-and-out. The Dawgs defense remained staunch, holding the Falcons offense to minus-8 yards on a three-and-out.
On the next drive by the Dawgs, Emmett Snyder kept the ball and scampered 44 yards for a touchdown on third-and-8. The extra-point conversion attempt was no good. The Dawgs held a 12-0 lead going into the fourth quarter.
The Dawgs defense dominated the second half, allowing only two plays for positive yardage, and minus-15 yards in the second half.
After forcing a three-and-out in the fourth quarter, the Dawgs ran the clock down to end the game with a 12-0 victory.
Offensively, Cope led the charge with 18 carries for 74 yards rushing and a 17-yard catch with a rushing touchdown. Emmett Snyder finished with nine carries for 60 yards and a rushing touchdown, while going 1 for 4 with 17 yards passing. Jack Abplanalp tallied three carries for 16 yards, and Luke Baxter had three rushing attempts for minus-2 yards.
Defensively, Abplanalp had three total tackles and two tackles for a loss. Cope had three total tackles, a half-sack, a pass deflection and a tackle for a loss. Lucas Copley also had three total tackles with a half-sack and two tackles for a loss. Laine Jackson had three total tackles, a half-sack and a tackle for a loss. Zach Mocny added two tackles, a forced fumble and a tackle for a loss. Evan Wellner had two tackles. Snyder and Jacob Sproveri each contributed a tackle for a loss and a fumble recovery apiece. Jesse Sheats had a sack, while Evan Huck had a half-sack. Luke Baxter also had one tackle. The Dawgs defense combined to allow 12 total yards for the game.
The Warren County Youth Football League recognized their sixth-graders for “Senior Recognition.” This year’s sixth-graders are Anthony McDaniel, Emmett Snyder, Aaron Jennings, Jack Abplanalp, Lukas Cope, Laine Jackson, Kaiden Reed, Blake VanArsdale, Luke Baxter, Evan Huck, Lucas Copley and Grant Ferman.
The Dawgs hosts Port Allegany this coming Saturday at 3 p.m. at Youngsville High School for their final regular season home game as they strive to remain undefeated.
Bowling leagues
Candy Vinopal rolled a 196-518 and Cindy Shafer had a 172-473 during the Youngsville Ladies League at Valley Bowling Center.

Deb Sumner’s 197-476 paced the Ladies Church League at Valley Bowling Center.
Cindy Reasbeck spun a 167-470.
Junior high football
Beaty Warren Middle School traveled to Conneaut on Oct. 3, defeating the host Eagles 32-0.
Beaty had 356 yards rushing for the game, including a quarterback sneak by Parker Kiser and Collin Havers’ 14-yard touchdown run to lead 12-0 at halftime.
In the third quarter, Beaty took charge with a 76-yard touchdown run by Tucker Sanford and Havers added a 12-yard run for his second score. Kiser added a 2-point conversion for a 26-0 Beaty lead.
Grant May had an interception in the third quarter and Drake Brown recovered a fumble in the fourth to help keep Conneaut off the scoreboard.
Jake Lawson finished the scoring with a 45-yard touchdown run for Beaty.
Kiser added 52 yards passing on four completions, and he added six tackles on defense. Sanford led the defense with eight tackles in the win.
