Betts Inc. traveled to Youngsville to play Calvert Pearson Insurance Group on Thursday.

Calvert Pearson Insurance Group’s Ian Lewis struck out three in the first inning while allowing just one run.

In the bottom of the first, Betts Inc.’s Reed Fitzgerald struck out two and gave up two runs.

In the second inning, Betts scored five runs, led by Case Neal hitting a double to get Betts Inc. going.

Betts Inc. held Calvert Pearson Insurance Group to two runs in the second, even with the effort of Jansen Walters hitting a double, scoring Parker Cressley to make it 6-4.

Betts Inc. added five runs in the third and Calvert Pearson Insurance Group scored just once.

Betts Inc. added four more runs in the fourth inning to add their lead despite Calvert Pearson Insurance Group trying to come back, but falling short by three runs.

Fitzgerald finished with five strikeouts. Trae Cradduck struck out five for Calvert Pearson Insurance Group and Lewis added four.

Offensively for Betts Inc., Neal doubled while Evan Wilcox, Fitzgerald, Parker Stanton, Zack Ayers and Bruce Harshaw singled.

Offensively for Calvert Pearson Insurance Group, Jansen Walters doubled while Lewis, Cradduck and Neal Soltis singled.
