HERSHEY — Warren senior Shyann Rulander finished 50th out of 244 runners on Saturday at the PIAA Girls 2A Cross Country Championships at Hershey Park.
Rulander finished the packed course in 21:26.7, and Warren freshman teammate Morgan Alexander was 123rd in 22:41.9.
In the Class 2A Boys’ meet, Warren sophomore Sam Lindell was 65th out of 247 total finishers in 18:04.8.
“It was a hot day on a challenging course,” said Warren coach Kevin Dustin. “The states race goes out quick and stays quick. Shyann ran well for her second time being there. She worked her way through the crowd well. Morgan got her first taste of big-time championship running and handled it well. She is already ready to go back. Sam was battling a hip injury he developed from the District 10 race; that bothered him all race. He still pulled off a good run for the day despite that, but I know he wanted more out of the race. Should be some good things to come for Warren cross country these next few years.”
