SAEGERTOWN — Taking some time to get their footing this season, the Warren Dragons scored early and often in a 12-1 Region 4 boys soccer win on Thursday at Saegertown.
“Nice to get a region win,” said Warren coach Denny Flatt, whose Dragons are now 1-1 in the region and 1-2 overall. Warren will play another tough non-region opponent Saturday at Harbor Creek; the Dragons were eliminated from the District 10 playoffs a season ago by the Huskies.
“We were able to get 29 players into the game,” Flatt said of the Dragons’ third straight road match on Thursday to start the season. “Parks Ordiway led the scoring with five goals and two assists,” said Flatt. “Our back line of Corban Reinard, Casey Rich, Chase Sitler and Ethan Best quickly shut down any Saegertown threats. Keepers were Will Nebinski, Josh Letko and Jack Lynds.”
In addition to the senior Ordiway, sophomore Finn Ordiway added two more goals; Jack Darling one goal and two assists; Mark Lynds, Gavin Rex, Jack Chapman and Casey Rich a goal and an assist apiece; and Karson Lyon and Best each had an assist in the lopsided victory.
