Lady Dragons win region opener
EDINBORO — Emma Ruhlman and Sammie Ruhlman combined for 20 of Warren’s 22 first-half points as the Dragons jumped out to a big lead and cruised to a 51-23 Region 6 basketball victory Thursday at General McLane.
Emma Ruhlman ended with 15 points and 11 rebounds, and Sammie Ruhlman and Riley Childress 13 points apiece for 7-2 Warren.
Teammate Halle Kuzminski contributed 4 points and 8 rebounds.
“We are very dangerous when they are all playing in sync,” said Warren coach Lisa LaVan. “(A sophomore,) Sammie had a monster game. Some more games under her belt has helped a ton. Teams zero in on Emma and Riley; it just opens things up with her. She is a gamer and is starting to show what she is capable of.”
General McLane is 4-6 overall.
