Vernon J. Ecker
Vernon “Vern” J. Ecker, 85 of Youngsville, passed away May 1, 2026 at Corry Memorial Hospital after a long illness.
Vern was born September 24, 1940, in Capitol Heights, MD, to the late Ralph and Catherine Mary O’Conner Ecker.
He worked at the National Forge Co. for 39 years as a finish machinist.
When Robert Wilder, the owner of the Forge passed away in 1995, he was asked to make his urn with the Forge steel. He was a life member of the ATA trap shooting association. He enjoyed trapshooting with his wife and his son, Steve. One of his favorite things was going to Maryland crabbing with his grandson, Dustin. He also traveled and enjoyed camping with his family.
He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Muczynski Ecker, whom he married September 3, 1960, a daughter, Lori (Brian) Lampman of Roulett, PA, a son, Steven (Julie) Ecker of Naples, FL, his grandchildren, Dustin and Cassie, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Norman and Ralph Ecker, Jean Bemus, Pat Anderson and Gail Tronnecelliti.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 6th at noon at Saint Luke’s Roman Catholic Church, 420 North Main St. in Youngsville with the Rev. Father Rick Tomasone, pastor, as officiant. Friends and family are invited 1 hour prior in the gathering space at the church before the Mass. Burial will be in St Joseph R.C. Cemetery in Warren.
The family suggests memorial donations, in Vern’s name, be made to the Michael J. Fox Parkinson’s Foundation, michaeljfox.org.
