Bison offense too much for Warren

WATERFORD — Fort LeBoeuf took control with a six-run bottom of the first inning en route to a 13-5 Region 6 baseball win over Warren on Monday.

After Duncan McGarry hit into an RBI fielder’s choice to give the Dragons a 1-0 lead in the top of the first, the Bison exploded for six runs in their half of the frame.

Another four runs in the bottom of the third gave Fort LeBoeuf a 10-1 lead.

Warren answered with a three-run top of the fifth inning. Bradey Chase led off with a single and Brady Shene was hit by a pitch before both moved up on a wild pitch. With one out, David Manning hit an RBI single and Eli Snyder followed with a sacrifice fly. After a walk, Gabe Thibodeaux hit an RBI double to make it 10-4.

Fort LeBoeuf got three runs back in the bottom of the fifth before Warren got its final run in the seventh on McGarry’s RBI single to score Aaron Shene.

Manning went 2 for 4 as the Dragons finished with eight hits.

Jackson Lewis went 3 for 5 with two doubles, a triple, four RBIs and two runs scored for the Bison. Grady Matkovich had two hits, including a double; Dustin Strasser and Ryan Bakka each had two hits; and Nick Askins doubled in the win.
