First absentee, mail-in ballots for primary sent out

Warren County voters have started receiving ballots for the May primary.

Director of Elections and Voter Registration Krystle Ransom said ballots have been sent out to every voter who has requested an absentee or mail-in ballot.

“We finished up Warren City today and they should be received by the end of the week to all voters,” Ransom said Tuesday. “If someone doesn’t receive a ballot by the beginning of next week but think they should have, they can call my office and we will look into it.”

The office is located at Warren County Courthouse and can be reached by calling (814) 728-3406.

Ransom will continue to turn around ballots as applications are received.

There is still time. The deadline to apply is 5 p.m., Tuesday, May 10, and the deadline to return a mail-in or absentee ballot is 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 17. Having it in the mail is not sufficient, according to the Pennsylvania Department of State, the applications and ballots must be received at the office by the deadlines.

Anyone interested in working at the polls is encouraged to contact Ransom.

“We have poll worker training this Saturday, April 30, in case there is anyone interested,” she said. “We can always use a few extra hands.”

Starting at $3.50/week.
