Deadlines approaching leading up to Election Day
Election Day is less than a month away and there are some deadlines coming up.
Oct. 18 is the last day to register to vote in the Nov. 2 general election.
The last day to apply for an absentee or mail-in ballot is Tuesday, Oct. 26, according to Warren County Deputy Director of Elections Krystle Ransom. Absentee and mail-in ballots were sent out on Sept. 27 to those who had already applied.
She said the office is turning around applications and mailing out ballots within 24 hours.
Those who are voting – whether in-person or by mail – must be done by 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 2.
“The ballots need to be in our office by 8 p.m. on election night,” Ransom said. “Ballots can be dropped off in person Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in our office” at Warren County Courthouse.
In the case of mail-in ballots, “all ballots will be counted if the back of the envelope is signed and dated, the ballot is sealed in its secrecy envelope, and it is received on or before election day at 8 p.m.,” she said.
The systems in place are the same as those used in May.
“We will still be using the poll pads that were first introduced in the Spring 2021 Municipal Primary,” Ransom said. “All polling places open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m.”
