Warren beats Meadville 4-1
It was a beautiful day for some tennis at Betts Park on Thursday.
It was even more satisfying as the Warren boys took care of business as they defeated the Meadville Bulldogs 4-1 in a Region 2 clash.
“It was nice to finally get a couple home matches in for our boys this year,” Dragons head coach Thomas Pellegrino said. “We got some new faces in the varsity lineup today, and were able to secure a spot in the district team finals in a few weeks. Overall, it has been a great few days of tennis, and we hope to carry the momentum into tomorrow’s match with St. Marys.”
Lucas Thrift, Gabe Dougherty and Tobiah Reinard won at singles for Warren. Karson McCollough and Bentley Sherry won at first doubles for the Dragons.
The Dragons moved to 12-1 on the season and are now 5-1 in Region 2 play. The Dragons will hit the road Friday to travel to St. Marys for a nonregion matchup.
