St. Joseph Catholic School hosts annual Halloween parade event
Photo provided to the Times Observer Halloween might look a little different this year as a result of the pandemic but that certainly hasn’t costume creativity. Here, Hayden Meyers, 7-year-old, is Colonel Sanders with 2-year-old Oakley Myers as the world famous chicken.
Santa Claus, Little Bo Peep (no sheep), an alien carrying a human, one blind mouse (separated from its buddies), a doughnut, and some macaroni and cheese were among the characters seen outside of St. Joseph Catholic School Friday, at the school’s annual Halloween Parade.
Parents were invited to line the parking lots in a socially distant manner to observe their costumed students – who were encouraged to socially distance. Younger students could be seen holding one hand in front of them and one hand behind to maintain space.
Between the COVID requirements and dismal and threatening weather, the parade was shorter than usual. Students left the front door, paraded around the building, and went back in through the back.
Trick-or-treating will be held Saturday throughout the county.
Many municipalities in the county have announced a schedule of 6 to 8 p.m.
Pleasant and Conewango townships will hold trick-or-treat hours from 5 to 7 p.m.
In Columbus Township, which follows the Corry schedule, it will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Municipal officials remind trick-or-treaters to carry a light, travel with an adult, take care when crossing a road, maintain distancing, wear (protective) masks, and to only visit houses with porch lights on.
