Structure fire at Conewango Apt off of Holly St.

Photo submitted to Times Observer An involved structure fire began around 8:30 p.m. Friday at 312 Holly St., off of Conewango Ave.

Residents and pets escaped harm from a destructive fire thanks to quick reactions from two passersby on Friday night.

Multiple fire departments battled a fire at the Conewango Apartments off of Holly Street in Glade Township on Friday night.

Josh Frederoski, a detective with the Warren County Sheriff’s Office, and his partner were driving past the apartments when they saw the fire. “We called it in,” Frederoski said.

Once they made the call, the pair went through the engulfed building to make sure no residents were inside. They then helped evacuate neighboring buildings and also rescued some pets.

The fire was reported at about 8:30 p.m. Flames were seen coming from a second-floor window and the roof area of one of the buildings at about 9 p.m.
