Crimestoppers cases finding success in county
Warren County Crimestoppers reported progress in local crime prevention efforts during its recent meeting.
Among the key developments, the Crimestoppers highlighted a recently solved case as part of its “Crime of the Week” program. According to the group, Casie Oswalt, 45, was charged on April 1 with theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property. The charges followed an investigation into the February theft of a bearded dragon from a local pet store.
The organization also announced it will participate as a charitable partner in the upcoming Warren Gives scheduled for May 13. The initiative is expected to support Crimestoppers’ ongoing efforts to encourage community involvement in reporting crime.
Board members also reviewed two recent cases in which tips submitted to Crimestoppers directly led to arrests. In recognition of those contributions, the board approved cash rewards for both tipsters.
The organization continues to expand its leadership, with two new community members approved to join the board. The group hopes to attract additional volunteers interested in supporting local public safety efforts.
Crime Stoppers officials expressed appreciation for community members who continue to provide tips, emphasizing that public participation remains a critical component in solving cases and preventing crime.
Those interested in joining the Crime Stoppers can reach out to any of the current board members.
