UPDATE: Wanted man taken into custody in NY

William Jacob Concini

RIPLEY, N.Y. — A Pennsylvania man wanted for his involvement in a shooting incident early Wednesday has been taken into custody in the town of Ripley.

The Pennsylvania State Police said there is no longer a threat to the community after the apprehension of 43-year-old William J. Concini. Efforts had been underway to located the Erie, Pa., man after a shooting around 6:30 a.m. Monday in Waterford, Pa., left another person — identified as a 36-year-old man — in the hospital.

Concini’s vehicle had been located by sheriff’s deputies in Ripley sometime around 10 a.m. The Pennsylvania resident had been deemed “armed and dangerous” in a news release by authorities.

Chautauqua County Sheriff James Quattrone confirmed before Concini was located that patrol deputies and local investigators were assisting in the search.

The investigation surrounding the shooting remains ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call Pennsylvania State Police at 814-898-1641.
