Denise Camille Oaks Cederquist

Denise Camille Oaks Cederquist, 68, of Youngsville, passed away on Tuesday, June 9, 2026 at Warren General Hospital.

Denise was born May 29, 1958, in Brookville, PA, a daughter of the late Dale Oaks and Dolores Swineford Oaks. She was a 1976 graduate of Warren Area High School and 1977 graduate of Olean Business Institute. She was employed for 32 and a half years with the Commonwealth of PA at the Warren State Hospital and at the HIPP Program. Denise gave freely of her time to help her community, being a volunteer at the Youngsville’s Restore and Youngsville Public Library as a board member. She was a former volunteer with Hospice of Warren County for over 23 years, and helped serve meals and community dinners at the Sharing Place. She was a member of Unit 135 American Legion Auxiliary having served as a past President for several terms. She served on various committees. She was a member of Otterbein Global Methodist Church and was a past president of the Friends of the Rouse Home, volunteering in various capacities.

Denise was noted as a kind, cheerful, and generous person who helped and comforted many people. Her concern and care for others was greatly admired by all who knew her. Her smile and her giggle were contagious; to meet her was to instantly become a friend. She loved and supported her family above all. And, she passionately enjoyed the beach, lighthouses, music and scrapbooking. Denise wanted to leave this with you all. “It’s not what you take when you leave this world behind, it’s what you leave behind you when you go.”

A devoted wife, Denise was preceded in death by her husband, Richard “Dick”, whom she married on May 10, 2008, at The Sherman Lighthouse, Tionesta, PA. She is also survived by two sisters, Deanna “Dee” (Calvin) Kubecki, and Darlene “Dar” (Zachary) Williams, both of Irvine, PA; a niece, Alicia Kay Kubecki, of Warren, PA, and 3 nephews, Lucas Williams of Clarendon, PA, Shane (Megan) Williams, Tidioute, PA and Jared Kubecki, of Warren, PA and a great nephew, Chayse Kayden Kubecki, Warren, PA, who meant the world to her.

In addition to her parents, Denise is preceded in death by her older brother, Danny Craig Oaks, born October 6, 1952; deceased on June 24, 1956. Her husband, “Dick” Cederquist on December 26. 2021.

Friends will be received on Friday, June 12, 2026 from 4-7pm at Nelson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 314 N. Main Street, Youngsville, PA, 16371 as well as Saturday, June 13, at the Otterbein Global Methodist Church, 258 Dalrymple St, Pittsfield, PA 16340 from 10-11am at which time a funeral service will be held there with the Rev. Jeff Canter, pastor of New Life Church in Youngsville. A private burial will take place at Warren County Memorial Park in Warren.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to Friends of the Rouse, 701 Rouse Ave, Youngsville, PA 16371, or Youngsville Public Library, 100 Broad Street, Youngsville, PA 16371.
