Sentences handed down in county court

The following sentences were handed down by Judge Gregory Hammond on Friday during sentence court proceedings at the Warren County Courthouse.

Jacob D. Matteson, 40, Pittsfield, to five days to two years incarceration with credit for five days time served, $375 in fees, to undergo a drug and alcohol evaluation and comply with recommendations, a no contact/no trespass order, 40 hours of community service and submission of a DNA sample on a count of criminal trespass.

Nicholas G. Reardon, 21, Warren, to one month incarceration to two years with credit for eight days time served, $375 in fines and fees, to undergo mental health and drug and alcohol evaluations and comply with recommendations, a no contact/no trespass order, 40 hours of community service and submission of a DNA sample on a count of terroristic threats.

Matthew S. Smith, 38, Russell, to nine months to two years incarceration, $375 in fees, a no contact/no trespass order and submission of a DNA sample on a count of theft by unlawful taking.

Christian D. Vail, 30, Warren, to 18 to 54 months incarceration with credit for 54 days time served, $375 in fees, to undergo mental health and drug and alcohol evaluations and comply with recommendations, submission of a DNA sample and state drug treatment court eligibility on a count of aggravated assault as well as two to four months incarceration, approximately $1,250 in restitution and $100 in fees on a count of criminal mischief.

Louis J. Varallo, 69, Warren, to a one year sentence including three months incarceration and three months on house arrest, $2,875 in fines and fees and 40 hours of community service for driving on a DUI-related suspended license.

THURSDAY

ARRAIGNMENT COURT

During arraignment proceedings on Thursday, one guilty plea was entered while one defendant pleaded not guilty.

Sean D. Sprague,, 47, Sheffield, pleaded guilty to DUI and a traffic offense. An additional count of DUI and another traffic offense were not prosecuted.

Nolan D. Nudd, 22, Warren, pleaded not guilty. Nudd faces charges of aggravated assault, simple assault, disorderly conduct, harassment and public drunkenness.
