Crossing the line Dear Editor, Honest news outlets and columnists, for some time, have reported the atrocious weakening of our southern border. Border patrol reports approaches from 170 different countries and that well over 2 million have rushed the border since President Joe Biden took office. Overspending hurts youth Dear Editor: I am a 13-year-old scout in Boy Scouts of America Troop 8. As part of a requirement for a merit badge I am working on, I would like to share my thoughts about the country’s national debt. Today the U.S. national debt exceeds $31 trillion. It rises more than $1 million every 40 seconds. The level at which the national debt is growing is clearly unsustainable. Childish in defeat Dear Editor, Sometimes it takes something as simple as a comic strip to illustrate a pertinent political point. Take, for instance, the running episode in last week’s Baby Blues cartoon strip. The young girl of the family is devastated that she was not chosen as Student of the Week by her teacher.
