Nation a ‘fiasco’

Dear Editor,

It’s time for Socialist Dems to shed the scales on their eyes in order to see the reality of the President Joe Biden administration. They thought they were getting a unifier; how mistaken they were in what the election produced. He wants to “finish the job.” That sounds like a threat–not something positive in my opinion. Do we as a nation have to endure more of this fiasco after 2024? I certainly hope not.

Looking at the country now, we have:

¯ Open borders with chaos and corruption running rampant.

¯ Inflation.

¯ Energy dependence on anyone who will sell us oil, instead of producing our own.

¯ Crime at all-time highs in some liberal cities.

¯ Sexual propaganda aimed at our children.

¯ Failing foreign diplomacy.

¯ Military chaos beginning with the debacle in Afghanistan.

¯ Pushing a green agenda we aren’t capable of utilizing without more thought in how to implement it, effectively giving China more leverage over our economy.

¯ Division among races whenever possible.

¯ Constantly blaming others and never taking responsibility for his mistakes; the “buck stops here” has never materialized.

¯ A family compromised by foreign entities.

There are more problems to be addressed, but Biden isn’t the one to lead in correcting them since he is responsible for the chaos; a majority of the people in this country admit we are going in the wrong direction, so that in itself is a good indicator of what he has done while in office. Most Americans in all parties do not want to see him run for office again; among other things, he is too old.

Will Biden again hide in the basement unable to answer simple questions from a media biased press? He is cognitively declining and should not even contemplate another term in office. If he does, it will only prove that he doesn’t care about the people in this country; it will show how selfish and arrogant he is. Will Jill Biden step in and tell him the truth about his condition? If she really cared about the welfare of this country and him, she would be able to convey to him the truth that the presidency belongs to someone younger and more capable of fulfilling the duties required of a leader. At 80 years old he isn’t up to the task now or in the future.

It will take a concerted effort on all voters to find a leader that will take this country back to the level of dignity we once had at home and abroad. Biden is not the one for that task.

Candidate questions

Dear Editor,

I have a few very important questions I would like to ask the sheriff candidates. Since I am unaware of any open forums to ask these sheriff candidates questions, I am relying on the Times Observer to ask these question which I am sure the public would be interested in.

Questions for candidates for sheriff of Warren County

1. Do you consider yourself a Constitutional Sheriff?

2. If Biden makes an executive order to confiscate all AR-15s and AK-47s and any other rifle they so determine and solicit all police departments in the state and County Sheriff’s Office to go door to door to confiscate these guns, because they looked up a lot of people’s address from the BATF records!

Will you stop that, and will you interpose and protect us from gun confiscation?

You can get trained by the Constitutional Sheriffs & Peace Officers Association to help protect us from the feds!

3. Will you enforce mask laws?

4. Will you permit forced vaccinations?

I am hopeful the candidates will respond to these question in the Times Observer so all of Warren County will be able to see their responses.

Mead Island worries

Dear Editor:

Mead Island needs help. Commercial sand and gravel dredging turned the largest island on the Allegheny River (an important historical site) into a doughnut with eroded banks. The north side is more than 30 feet deep, with artificial rapids and frequent rescue operations. By contrast, the south side wasn’t dredged and is stagnant. The island’s middle is gone.

We’ve lost too much. I have lived on the river for almost a century, and I’ve seen it change. I grew up splashing and playing among shellfish and minnows, you can’t imagine how many; I fished with my future father-in-law for bass, suckers, and carp; When I got back from Korea, I saw the dam go up; I took my children and grandchildren fishing. I hope my great grandchildren love it too.

We need balance between repairing our river and preserving jobs. When we sued the Water Treatment Corp., I was sorry for the workers — but they lost those jobs due to negligence. Thanks to changes in legislation and resource scarcity, commercial dredging jobs are also gone — and so is most of Mead Island. I’m sorry for the workers, but shouldn’t the companies be responsible?
