‘Monster’ turnout reported for weekend concert

Allegheny River Monsters and members of the Warren Area High School class of 1982 (from left) Jim Cheronis, Todd Singleton, and Pat Hackett, with Johnny ‘Sticks’ Salerno (also class of 82) on drums, perform Rock This Town by Stray Cats during Warrenstock 2022.

About 30 Warren County and former Warren County musicians — Allegheny River Monsters all — gathered to play close to 50 songs over six hours Saturday evening.

“I was delirious when it was over,” Allegheny River Monsters Founder Pat Hackett said. Hackett is the one Monster who is part of every group and every song.

Thousands of people — about 3,500 throughout the evening — turned out to enjoy the concert along the Conewango Creek at Pellegrino’s Creekside Pavilion. “Best turnout ever!” Hackett said.

Hackett and his classmates incorporated the Warren Area High School class of 1982’s 40th reunion into the event. “The WAHS 40th reunion was a smashing success,” he said.

In addition to the concert featuring songs that came out in 1982, Hackett and John Bowler each wrote and performed solo acoustic numbers as a tribute to the class. “Very well received.”

And, as a result of Allegheny River Monsters T-shirt sales, a “significant” donation was made to the Warren Area High School marching band.

Starting at $3.50/week.
