McCormick began his visit at Kinzua Dam, where he met with representatives from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
He later stopped at the Plaza Restaurant for lunch before heading to Breeze Point, where local officials presented renderings of Warren’s proposed riverfront master plan. Although the plans have not yet been made public, officials wanted to provide McCormick with an early look at the vision for the project and gather his input.
The discussion focused on opportunities to enhance the city’s riverfront, including the benefits of nearby businesses such as Bent Run Brewing Co. and Allegheny Outfitters, which already draw visitors to the area. Officials also discussed the possibility of constructing a pedestrian bridge to improve access to destinations including the Warren YMCA and the Car Pool.
McCormick also spoke by phone with Mayor David Wortman during the visit. Local officials in attendance included state Rep. Kathy Rapp and state Sen. Scott Hutchinson, along with First Lady of Warren Jennifer Wortman.

Beyond riverfront development, the conversation addressed several regional concerns, including rural healthcare and challenges facing local communities. Rapp also raised issues related to the oil and gas industry and its importance to the region’s economy.
The visit provided an opportunity for local leaders to highlight ongoing development efforts and discuss priorities affecting Warren and the surrounding area with Pennsylvania’s newest U.S. senator.
