Warren grinds out win over St. Marys

The Warren Lady Dragons went up against one of District 9’s top teams in St. Marys on Monday and came away with a hard-fought 40-35 victory. CORRY, Pa. —Early in the season, Warren dropped a pair of Region 6 games after squandering a fourth quarter lead. Corry came back from a 13-point halftime deficit to take a brief lead, but this time Warren battled back and picked up a huge, 62-55, Region 6 road win Friday. Weather forces changes

The severe weather forecasted for this weekend has prompted a trio of schedule changes for Warren County teams. Both the Eisenhower girls basketball and Warren wrestling teams were set to face Titusville today. Those events have been postponed, as has the Warren boys basketball game against Mercer. The girls basketball game has been moved to Jan. 25 in Titusville with a 1 p.m. tipoff. The wrestling match, also in Titusville has been rescheduled for Feb. 1 with a 7 p.m. start. District 10 approves new regions, adds Butler for football

The District 10 Committee voted to approve the proposed region realignment during its meeting in Sharon Wednesday. D-10 proposed realignments Jan. 2. The regions are set now for all sports except football and boys and girls basketball, which can’t be finalized until the PIAA applies the Success Factor Formula. One change is certain in football. DuBois is out-moving to District 9-and Kennedy and Butler are in. Kennedy is competing in varsity football again after playing a junior varsity-only schedule last year.
