Warren falls to first-place Corry
CORRY — Corry won seven of nine matches on the mat Wednesday, and continued to dominate Region 3 with a 57-12 win over Warren at Corry Middle High School.
“The Dragons had a tough go of it tonight,” said Warren coach Glenn Baldensperger, whose Dragons are 6-4 overall and 3-2 in the region. “You can definitely see that the Corry team has paid its dues in the offseason. Hopefully we can get the Dragons to buy into that concept.”
With pins from Isaiah Bayle (127 pounds), Will Allen (133 pounds), who is 24-6 on the season, Trey Proper (160 pounds), Mason Savitz (172 pounds), Kael Albers (215 pounds) and Steven Willis (114 pounds) — four of those six being sophomores and one a freshman, Corry improved to 6-0 overall and 5-0 in the region.
“Jordan Tuttle got us on the board with a hard-fought 4-1 decision,” said Baldensperger. “He is starting to come along. Grant Heeter received a forfeit and Adika Fiscus continues his winning ways. He was in control the whole match.”
Warren is next at “a strong Titusville squad,” according to Baldensperger, next Wednesday.
