Youngsville Life: Church to host benefit

Please email community news to Colette Nelson at Colettenel.ypl@gmail.com by Wednesday of each week to be included in the Youngsville News section of the Saturday paper.

Hessel Valley Lutheran Church will hold a benefit spaghetti dinner on Saturday, May 16, from 3 to 6 p.m. or until sold out to benefit Alisa Clever and her family.

Dinners are drive-through, pick-up only and will be served from the bottom of the driveway. Cost is by

donation and all of the proceeds go to the family.

A little about Alisa in her own words:

“Hi my name is Alisa, I am 37 years old, wife and mother of 2 wonderful children 11, ages 15 and 11. For the past several years, I have dedicated myself to advancing my education while working full-time and managing the responsibilities of motherhood, and supporting my husband who faced his own challenges as he recovered from a stroke.

I completed my Associate’s Degree in Healthcare Management and excitedly embarked on a new path to better provide for my family. It felt as though everything was finally beginning to fall into place for us to pursue and achieve our goals as a family. However, an unexpected tum has altered our course.

Last year I received a devastating diagnosis, Stage 3 Pancreatic Cancer, leading to significant pain and discomfort that has made life particularly difficult to navigate. As I focus on my ongoing treatments and recovery, the associated medical expenses, along with travel costs have created a considerable financial burden for our family.

Therefore, I am reaching out to seek your help. Any donation you can provide, no matter how small, would be appreciated. Your support, prayers and positive thoughts would mean the world to us during this challenging time.

We are immensely grateful for the Love and Kindness that surrounds us. Thank You sincerely for your generosity and compassion.”

Those who are unable to attend but still want to donate can send donations to the Hessel Valley Lutheran Church

PO Box 7, 166 Hessell Valley Road, Sugar Grove, PA 16350. Make checks payable to the church and write Alisa in the memo line.
