Lancers blank Warren on Thursday

EDINBORO — The Warren High baseball team was on the road Thursday as they traveled to General McLane to take on a very well-rounded Lancer squad to fall 7-0.

The first inning was scoreless, but the home team opened up the scoring as they crossed the plate four times to take the early lead. The Lancers would score three more runs in the 5th and 6th innings and held Warren to just four hits in the outing.

The Dragons struggled to gain any offensive momentum due to a strong pitching performance from McLane’s Kellen Chelton who threw for 6 innings and struck out 9 batters.

David Manning took the loss, and lasted 5 2/3 innings with five strikeouts and five earned runs.

Recording singles for the Dragons were Brady Shene, Eli Snyder, Colin Zdarko and Zane Carlson.

Warren is back in action Monday as they head to Fort LeBoeuf, then Tuesday for a makeup game versus McDowell that was originally scheduled for Friday.

Starting at $3.50/week.
