The Eisenhower boys soccer team played its last two home halves of soccer on Thursday, but one would have been enough against Conneaut, Ohio as the hosts scored all of their goals before the break en route to a 6-2 win.
In the span of 18 minutes, sophomore Logan Degnan was a one-man scoring machine for Eisenhower as he tallied four goals. His first one came in the 38th minute on a direct kick to put the Knights up 1-0. Both teams moved the ball well, but Eisenhower’s midfielders limited the amount of clean shots the visiting Spartans had.
After 12 minutes without a goal, the next six minutes belonged to Degnan as he scored three more goals, one on an assist from Austin Hannold, to put the Knights up 4-0. Eisenhower senior Austin Guiher tallied on a penalty kick and Hannold found the back of the net on a shot down the middle of the field as the first half was winding down.
The Spartans scored at the 23-minute mark when Bernardo Albaqurque found the back of the net to make it 6-1. Teammate Cohen Webb added the final goal.
The Knights travel to Warren on Tuesday for a 4 p.m. game.
